The tallest man with the tiniest woman in the same picture – what are the chances? I stopped to take a picture of this very tall gentleman as he looked like he was nearly clearing 8ft and no-one could walk past him without taking a look. I wondered how it was for him to be a constant source of gawping. His look back to the guy implies he might have had enough. As I was taking the photograph I then noticed the opposite end of the spectrum coming straight towards him.  There is even an arrow pointing to her from his back, linking them together. A random moment showing human diversity in all of its glory. Luck or Skill? I can’t really claim any credit for the picture. This is just unexplainable synchronicity at its best. Long live chaos!

In the ’90s/’00s people dressed up like the ’70s, now in the ’10s they dress up like the 80s…hmm, I wonder what’s next? Could it be..the 90s? But if the 90s come back will they bring the 70s with them as well?? On top of all that both the 50s & 60s also came back recently thanks to the Vintage resurgence and shows like Mad men. Its getting a little ridiculous. We now live in an ever-decreasing retro-revolving world. Every decade seems to come back quicker than the last. The only thing no-one’s thought to bring back is the concept of something that’s actually brand new…or is that just too old-fashioned?

Forget concerns about nuclear threat, the recession or eco-meltdown, this camera crew asks the most pressing issue of the day: Can a hairdresser charge you for not turning up to an appointment? Investigative journalism at its best…

I normally have a problem with people moaning bout the weather..eg: I heard a woman ask her neighbour: “how have you been coping with the rain?” How has she been coping? Its rain! its not tuberculosis! You live on a planet with a breathable atmosphere..shut the F*** up! Having said that I am seriously over this winter. It just won’t end. Its like living in Narnia, only with less elves or fawns or whatever the hell James McAvoy was in that movie…legs of a goat, face of an actor…

Late night reveller on next day tube…when you veer into the following day from a night out it’s a reality bending experience…you’re still on the previous day and you’re surrounded by people who have already begun a new one…its almost like travelling in time…sort of. In the case of this person (couldn’t identify gender) they were probably just thinking one thing…where on earth did I leave my jacket and why is it so fucking cold?

#MYLDN (136) – Bowie at The V & A

Opening night…

The exhibition is all about Bowie’s influence on almost every aspect of culture..music, art, fashion, cinema..he’s done the lot and for the most part done it better than anyone else. Seeing how many of the world’s glitterati had turned up to see this homage to the Great White Duke showed even more what a profound and lasting impact he had had on everyone. There were a lot of famous people there but for once they weren’t there to be seen, they were there because they were clearly fans. Members of most of the biggest pop bands of the 80s (soft cell, dexys, spandau ballet) were milling about  as well as Hollywood stars and la creme de la creme of the art world but like everyone else they just wanted to look at the mutitude of incredible Bowie artefacts on show. Bowie commands respect and rightfully so. He’s a fucking star, the brightest of the bunch.

If you’re into him, Bowie has affected you in a big way. Personally I think his greatest legacy was to show to people that it was ok to be yourself no matter what. Do what the fuck you like, just do it in style.  I have to say, it was a little overwhelming to try and consume everything on show all at once. It felt a bit like someone had spewed up David Bowie’s brain all over the V&A but, like, in a good way.  If I wanted to have a stroll around anyone’s mind, it would be his.

They said no pictures…I said, of course not. So sorry. But I wasn’t. And I did.

Mr David Dewaele aka 1 of 2manydjs stares up at his inspiration prior to playing an all Bowie set as part of the proceedings.

Can it be me? Puh-leeeease!

I love Kevin Rowland. Its a shame he didn’t seem quite so keen on me…
